Sail Across The East Blue Sea

Created by Eiichiro Oda, One Piece is a critically acclaimed Japanese manga series published in the Weekly Shōnen Jump, a magazine by Shueisha Inc. The first chapter made its debut in 1997, and the series has since been compiled into more than 100 tankōbon volumes.

The plot centers around Monkey D. Luffy (also known as “Straw Hat” Luffy), whose body possesses the properties of rubber after he consumes the Gum-Gum Fruit. Wanting to be a famous pirate like his childhood idol, “Red Haired” Shanks, he assembles a crew of self-described Straw Hat Pirates: Rorornoa Zoro, a talented swordsman; Nami, a cartogropher; Usopp, the King Of Snipers; Sanji, a prince of Germa Kingdom; Tony Tony Chopper, a doctor with the ability to transform into a reindeer hybrid; Nico Robin, an archaeologist and so-called “Devil Child”; Cutty Flam (or Franky), a cola-powered cyborg; Brook, a resurrected skeleton; and Jimbei, a fish-man. Together, this unlikely group of allies travels from the East Blue Sea, seeking the One Piece treasure, a prize of unimaginable value that was found by Pirate King Gol D. Roger and hidden on Laugh Tale island.

In 1999, the first episode of the One Piece anime was aired on Fuji TV, a Japanese television station. Produced by Toei Animation, the show is recognized as one of the best animated series of all time, having spawned more than 900 episodes and gained an international audience.
