Obi-Wan Kenobi Merchandise

Say “hello there” to Zavvi US’s wide range of Obi-Wan Kenobi merchandise. Our line-up of products — which includes officially licensed figures, and statues (among other items) — captures the fan-favourite Jedi Master’s many appearances throughout the Star Wars franchise, drawing inspiration from the original trilogy, the prequels, The Clone Wars, and his solo TV series.

A Knight Of The Republic

The character Obi-Wan Kenobi was first introduced in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977), a sci-fi movie in which the aging Jedi Knight is known as “Old Ben” Kenobi (played by Alec Guinness). Living on the planet Tatooine, he finds that his presence is needed in the fight against the Galactic Empire when Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) sends an urgent message inside a droid called R2-D2 (Kenny Baker). This droid falls into the possession of the young moisture farmer Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), who is an acquaintance of Ben. It turns out that the Rebel Alliance stole the plans to the Death Star, a planet-destroying superweapon, and stored them inside R2. So that they can be used to destroy said superweapon, Leia asks that Ben escort these plans to her home planet, Alderaan. He accepts this mission, inviting Luke to accompany him and learn about the ways of the Force, which the boy inherited from his father, Anakin Skywalker. However, Ben’s journey is cut short upon being struck down by Darth Vader (David Prowse / James Earl Jones), the apprentice of the Emperor (Ian McDiarmid).

The early life of Obi-Wan was further explored in the prequel trilogy, which began with Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999). His character reimagined by actor Ewan McGregor, the youthful Jedi evolves over the course of three films, transitioning from a Padawan learner to a full-fledged Master. After the events of Order 66 — the near-complete extermination of the Jedi depicted in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge Of The Sith (2005) — his path toward being the Tatooine-based hermit that we first met in the late ’70s begins, and audiences see this explored in a self-titled Disney+ TV series.
